This leviathan-sized warship class is built by the Omnium and used by its Near Force military branch. These vessels are designed to defend entire star systems by utilizing a hosts of weapon systems and interceptors. The SDS is currently the largest warship in production with an average beam of 7,000 meters.

The SDS is a fine balance of offensive and defensive systems designed to defend against short, medium, and long-range threats. Utilizing squadrons of interdictors and escort ships, the SDS can deploy anywhere within a solar system. Due to the size of these vessels, their weapon systems and payloads allow them to engage multiple capitol ships simultaneously.

Another advantage of these ships are their onboard maintenance and refit facilities. Not only can these systems repair or construct components for the vessel, but also for the ships that are assigned to its protection.
