The Federal Bureau of Investigations is an American agency assigned to investigating violations to Federal laws not enforcing them however. It falls under the Department of Justice. The agency’s main headquarters is in the Columbia Metroplex in a building named after J. Edgar Hoover. In addition, there are seventy-two field offices located across American space. There are also hundreds of smaller liaison and satellite offices used as information exchanges between other national and foreign agencies.

There are over sixteen thousand special agents that work for the FBI. They all fall under the direct leadership of the FBI Director. This position is appointed for up to ten years by the US President with the approval of the Congress.

Agents are well-trained mentally and physically. They are versed in a wide degree of investigative fields ranging from civil rights, cyber-tech, and counterterrorism for example. Agents are also trained to conduct investigations in almost any environment as required.
